We Are a People With a Story
We are people with a story. Our story is one of victory. The powers of the world don’t win. Our sin doesn’t lead us to condemnation because the love of God has overcome them. Death doesn’t have the final word because Christ is risen. It’s up to us to share that good news with those who do not understand.
Why do people give things up for Lent?
So, why do people give things up for Lent? Lent is the 40 days leading up to Easter (not counting the Sundays). Lent developed to acknowledge Jesus’ time in the wilderness before entering his public ministry. The early church used this time to prepare new converts for baptism.
A Celebration of Love
It’s February. Many of us are still wondering what happened to Christmas, but here we are, entering the season of Valentine’s Day. As always, this means that we’re going to hear a lot about love over the next few weeks. That’s not a bad thing.
Something New
This new year is like that for us as a church family. We’re starting a new chapter in the great story of this church. I’m excited to see how God will move among us in this part of our journey.
Thank You
I will never find enough words to thank you for the celebration of my ministry. It exceeded my expectations and reminded me why I have loved being in ministry all these years – you and people like you have given me the honor of relationship, friendship, kindness, and compassion. The Holy Spirit moves among us and binds us together in ways we may never fully understand. It’s been an honor and a joy to serve among you.

Movin' Right Along
I heard God call me into ordained ministry on that trip - it led to a defining kind of movin’ right along, seminary, ordination, etc. Whenever each of us is given the opportunity or takes the opportunity to reflect and look back, it’s often at a turning point for us or our loved ones. This past February, I did some traveling and followed some spiritual practices as I looked to God for some answers. I knew that I would be retiring either at the end of December 2022 or at the end of June 2023.
Fall Into Church
People have a love/hate relationship with September. People love it because it introduces the beauty of fall colors. Fans of pumpkin spice can find their favorite flavor everywhere. Of course, it’s also football season. September also means that summer is over, both unofficially at Labor Day and officially with the fall equinox. Vacations are behind us. September means noticeably shorter days and cooler temperatures.
