Choir Angels
Near the end of the worship service, she moved slightly toward me. I glanced down and to my left. She pointed to what she had written on the back of the Friendship Card from her bulletin. As my eyes met hers, I gave a slight nod and a half-smile. It had to do with the day the choir left the church.
God Always Provides
The suggestion sent a shiver down my spine. βWe should organize a live orchestra to accompany our Christmas Cantata instead of singing to a CD,β said our piano accompanist. Live orchestra? In Pendleton? Who would play in it? And how would I conduct it while directing the choir?

An Unexpected Blessing
Upon reaching our destination, the scene was familiar, so setting up and beginning the distribution went very routinely. What followed was not. The emotions I began to feel hit hard and fast.

Why Ashes? Connecting To Who We Are And Who We Can Be
One Wednesday a year, sometime in February or March, you notice someone at work, school, or elsewhere with a smudge on her forehead. It looks as if she missed a spot when washing. Then you see another who looks as though he needs to glance in the mirror. By the time you see the third, you realize it is Ash Wednesday and these passersby must have received the imposition of ashes.
