The Lord Is My Strength & My Shield

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and will give thanks to Him in song. –Psalm 28:7

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. –Isaiah 41:10

The challenges we face are different for each one of us, but I’ve learned through my personal experience with a chronic illness that God is with us and He hears us when we call Him. He hasn’t always answered me in the same way or the way I expect, but I’ve learned to trust that He is with me, guiding me and strengthening me. Currently, I’m still challenged by this “mystery illness,” but I am so grateful for all the progress I have made up to this point and all the people in my life that have been God’s hands and feet. The song “Never Alone” came “through” me during a particularly dark period of time in the early years of this healing journey when I was barely functioning and feeling depressed, confused and alone and praying for wisdom, guidance and strength. I like to think it was a message and reminder from God.

Remember that whatever you are going through, you are never alone. Jesus can be a comfort and I encourage you to remember His love for you.
