Happy Mother's Day!

I have always loved music. When I was young, my parents encouraged me. As an adult, my husband and our boys have indulged and supported me. When our son, Greg, set up our home router, he named it HouseOBellz without even asking me!

Why am I telling you this? What does your mother love? Do you indulge, encourage or support that interest?
Most Moms like to get hugs from their kids – no matter what age they are. Give her a flower – whether it’s her favorite kind or color. Call her just to talk. Does she like to eat out or go shopping? Gift cards come in handy when she wants to treat herself.

My mom sewed a lot when my sister and I were growing up. Sometimes she’d even let us help pick the fabric or pattern. Our Barbie dolls had fabulous wardrobes made from scraps of the clothes she made for us and herself. She made all the dresses for my high school dances. I took a lot of that for granted at the time. Now I try and let her know how much all of that time and effort means to me.

Today we honor and remember our mothers. Share a happy or funny memory with her and let her know she is appreciated. If she is with our Lord, share the story with family or friends so they can remember her with you.
