Stewardship Campaign: Caring for God’s Gifts - Changing Our World

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

We hope this note finds you well and well aware of God’s many blessings in your life.

Hear these words from scripture:

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. -2 Corinthians 9:10-11.

Most of life’s necessities are getting more expensive, and everyone is stretching dollars in new ways. The church is facing similar challenges.

Our church property needs repairs. Failing to address them now will lead to higher costs later.

There is a leak in the roof over the dish room area. When it rains, water drips onto the floor in many places. And everyone has seen the holes in our parking lot. They are well beyond patching and will need to be resurfaced on both the front and rear. The Trustees have received estimates, and the church will need to raise at least $70,000 to cover the cost of these projects.

Our team, the Leadership Team, is in agreement with the Trustees and has asked them to begin a special giving campaign to fund the repairs. Pastor Scott recently mentioned this in worship, and this letter begins the kickoff.

The campaign is called: Caring for God’s Gifts - Changing Our World.

Make no mistake: we know that Pendleton Center makes a powerful, positive impact for God on our community and on all the people touched by our congregation. Keeping our facility in shape and being careful stewards of what God has blessed us with will ensure it continues.

Our church is extraordinarily generous, and we are hopeful the money goal will be exceeded well before it is needed next year. The campaign will run from January 1 to April 30. In fact, if your 2025 finances allow, giving toward the repairs can begin this year! You just need to label it for “Special Campaign – Caring, Changing.” You can give to the campaign using traditional hard copy offerings or any of the electronic means available at church.

We look forward to your full support so that PCUMC can continue to lead our community toward Real Hope & Real Love!
