Feeding Hope: June Highlights & July Plans
June sure was a busy month! We had a visit from Kevin Miller, Multimedia Content Creator from the Upper New York Conference Office. He spent the whole day with us from beginning to end. He captured every detail of our day, preparing a meal, baking brownies, making PB&J sandwiches, and going downtown Buffalo to serve the meal to 140 folks. Kevin was there every moment capturing the heart of Feeding Hope.
Also, we have expanded Feeding Hope to partnering with Family Promise of WNY in Buffalo. Family Promise is an organization that supports homeless families, allowing them to stay together and get back on their feet as a family.
Learning more about how we can help, we donated two grocery bags - not just random items, but bags filled with food from lists created by the families themselves. Each bag costs $35. At the time that this info needs to get printed for the newsletter, more details aren't available. Stay tuned! We are anxious to spread the love of Jesus to these families. In the meantime, we’ve committed to donating two more bags in July, and we welcome your support. If you’d like to contribute, please make a monetary donation to Feeding Hope.
July Meal Details
Our next downtown Buffalo meal will be served on Wednesday, July 9. Our meal will be chicken drumsticks, mac & cheese, brownies, and PB&J sandwiches. Meal prep begins at 3:00 PM in the church kitchen, and we leave for downtown at 6:30 PM. Join us for any part of the day - you’re always welcome!
We’re looking for donations of boxed macaroni & cheese, vegetable oil, and butter or margarine. Please bring donations by Sunday, July 6.
There are so many parts of this ministry. Those donating needed donations to make the meals, those who prepare the meals including the experiments we do and have fun doing it, those who do the dishes, including the stuck-on pans, the trustees and volunteers who keep the kitchen and dish room maintained, and mostly those who pray for the ministry and those we serve. Thank you!
