Multiple leadership and productivity gurus have said that focus is a superpower. Even with packed to-do lists, we spend so much time scrolling on our phones and searching for things to watch on Netflix. Concentration is hard to come by when we have a lot on our minds or plates. Everyone feels overwhelmed and distracted. In a world where this behavior is the norm, focus is indeed a superpower. 

I’ve never been a fan of being scared for fun. It just doesn’t register for me the way it does for some others. We live in a world with plenty of things that warrant genuine fear.

A point in time, like a change in seasons, is always interesting. With a change of season, will you focus on what’s lost or what’s next? Will you long for what was or dream of what can be? In reality, both things are going to happen to us. The critical thing is which will be your focus. 

It might be helpful to think differently about doubts in our faith walk. What if we understood the doubt or question as a chance to strengthen our faith and deepen our relationship with God? 

There’s a phrase that says, get comfortable with being uncomfortable. I have to admit that’s easier said than done.
