The Magic of Shoebox Sunday
There is a buzz about the building, unlike any other day. Excitement is in the air as the holiday season is soon about to kick off with the arrival of Advent, and Santa Claus in the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade. Trailers line the front of the church parking lot. The church freezer is stuffed with turkeys for our meal ministries, and the altar is shimmering with a sea of colorfully wrapped shoeboxes.
We Are Royalty
Do we identify with being highly valued for reasons beyond the masquerade party? Knowing and experiencing our worth is not always easy. God asks us to do our part and live a faithful life. We can be saved, but live like spiritual paupers.
Choir Angels
Near the end of the worship service, she moved slightly toward me. I glanced down and to my left. She pointed to what she had written on the back of the Friendship Card from her bulletin. As my eyes met hers, I gave a slight nod and a half-smile. It had to do with the day the choir left the church.
God Always Provides
