Almost a Year

How fast the time has gone these past 11 months!  On July 1, 2021, I will have been serving here at Pendleton Center for one year - a blip in the big picture, and yet so significant for me, for us, and for our community, and in fact, the entire world.

I want to thank you for walking with me, pointing the way when I didn’t understand, and being willing to try something new or different in a time when we had to find a new way in every situation. I appreciate your offering encouragement and understanding, helping me in both small and large accomplishments.

I am honored and humbled to call myself one of the pastors here at the Pendleton Center United Methodist Church. Honored by the story that has gone before me, the saints who have built, sustained, carried, challenged, and loved this community, this congregation, this church.  Such a cloud of witnesses!

Change is hard for many people, maybe for all, depending on what the change is. God is guiding, pushing, challenging - and yet comforting, reassuring, ever-present.

I pray that we will turn the corner into this next year full of
hope, courage, compassion, and faith.
I pray that we will
welcome and embrace those who are new, even when we’re challenged
by their new ways of doing things.

I pray that we will
work and grow together to deepen our relationships
-with God
-with each other
-with the world around us.

Thank you for sharing the road…
Pastor Cathy
