Activities Outside the Church During COVID-19
We are aware that our facilities provide open space that is not readily available elsewhere in our community. We are also aware that being on church property for a visit is comforting to people. So we have been allowing people to take walks, ride bicycles, or even make a chalk drawing at the church. We have also discovered that it has become a place for people to engage in a “celebration parade” or similar activities.
As long as social distancing is practiced, we will allow such activities. We do ask that you call and arrange a time with the church, so we don’t overload our property or misunderstand what you are doing.
We do want to make our property available. However, if people begin to gather in groups, outside vehicles, and are clearly not social distancing, we will need to close our property to all uses. Church property is private property, and all activities that occur on our property reflect on the church. So if people want to walk their dog, or draw with chalk, or carefully have a social distancing event, we want to continue to accommodate these activities safely.
Please respect these policies so we can continue to provide safe spaces for everyone.
