A Message From Pastor Jean
“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.” -Philippians 2:14-16
As many of you know by now, I have received an appointment to a new church starting on July 1. This means I will no longer be one of your Pastors at Pendleton Center UMC. I have loved serving and doing ministry with you over the past 26 years. Our pastors are working diligently to figure out who will work with the ministries I currently lead. Please be patient and pray as they make these decisions.
We have done a lot together as I have served in various areas of the church through all these years. I started as the part-time secretary in 1992, and as the church grew, so did my calling. I directed the preschool, fish fry dinners, and the prayer team, among others. In December of 2002 I was blessed to be appointed as one of your pastors. And in January of 2008 I was assigned to be the on-site pastor at our sister church in Niagara Falls.
You have been so kind to me and I will miss you all. I thank you for making me a part of your lives, and allowing me to share in the celebrations and sorrows you have faced. There have been baptisms, weddings, and funerals that I have felt privileged to officiate.
But mostly you have shared your hearts and your faith journeys with me. And that is priceless. I will continue to hold you in my heart and in my prayers.
And now I ask for two things: First, please pray for me and for my new church, Amherst Trinity UMC. And second: remain faithful to PCUMC and to your Lord, Jesus Christ. I want to hear that my labor among you was not in vain.
