4-5 Year Old Programs
Pre-K - Afternoon Adventure
Pre-K
Our Preschool was established in 1978. We have taken special care to staff our children’s programs with people who provide a loving, nurturing environment for your children, have a passion and talent for teaching them, and are of good Christian character. All staff have had training in Safe Scantuaries, a child protection course, as well as CPR and First Aid, with an opportunity to renew skills each year. Our lead teachers have degrees in Education and backgrounds in Child Development, providing experiences that enrich each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative development; while introducing foundational Christian concepts. We keep in close contact with our public school system to make sure we continue to provide the best experiences and curriculum for your child's success in kindergarten and beyond.
Afternoon Adventure
This enrichment program allows your child the opportunity to practice social skills such as sharing, teamwork, problem-solving, and peer communication. Afternoon Adventure was designed to reinforce academic skills your child is learning in their Preschool program through hands-on activities like art projects, music, movement, stories, and sensory play. While our Preschool program often focuses on core academics, Afternoon Adventure allows space for imagination, dramatic play, STEM exploration, outdoor time, and projects that spark curiosity.
Adding on an afternoon program is perfect practice for students getting ready for a traditional kindergarten schedule.

Registration
All children are admitted without regard to race, color, or creed. All of our programs have some limitations in serving special needs children. We are willing to work with families to try to meet each child’s special needs, but may have to refuse or suggest moving a child whose needs we cannot meet. Periodically our staff will do evaluations to see how we can help each child grow in their strengths and compensate for weaknesses.
Our preschool program has a $50 non-refundable registration fee per child, which secures your child’s placement in our program.
Registration opens to families of PCUMC and Genesis on February 15.
Registration opens up to the public on March 1.
